First we need to understand completely what is cancer? The unhealthy cells grow, divide and then multiply or expand into other cells, probably transferring to parts of the body using a method called metastasis.  Cancer is most dangerous disease which kills human inside the body and day by day the affected person become weak. There are few drugs which can treat cancer but all those drug does not cure the disease completely.  Hence the medical researchers continues to advance in it's war with this disease for a cure. Cancer is treated using a number of techniques that include surgery, chemotherapy, radiation, immunotherapy, gene therapy, hormone therapy etc

Gene therapy is an advanced level of treatment where the affected patient’s genetic materials are altered or new genetic materials like (DNA, RNA) are introduced in the cells to fight the disease. Researchers work to invent improved methods of treating cancer through gene therapy. In gene therapy either the healthy cells are made active to fight the disease or the targeted cells are attacked to stop their growth.

Hormone therapy is one of the major treatments of cancerous disease. This is effective for treating tissues which are affected by the hormones. Hormone therapy either stop the growth of the cancerous  cells, kill them or make them or the growth is slow for the affected cells. The medication process during hormone therapy stops the growth of hormones.

Immune system is stimulated, repaired and enhanced so as to make it strong to fight the cancer cells which is carried out by cancer vaccines like Dendreon's Provenge, which helps in recognising the cancer cells and attacking them. Immunotherapy is done together with the combination of surgery, chemotherapy and radiation therapy.

Radiotherapy can be used to treat and control many kinds of cancer. It is a process of sending radioactive rays into the patient’s body to shrink the size of the tumour and thus reducing the cancer cells.  This technique works by destroying the molecules within the cells which are the carrier of information on genetic to the upcoming generations.

Researchers continues to study the benefits of interleukins to treat a number of other cancers, including leukemia, lymphoma, and brain, colorectal, ovarian, breast and prostrate cancers.  Rituxan is used for the treatment of non-Hodgkin lymphoma. Herceptin is used to treat metastatic breast cancer in patients with tumors which is approved by FDA. BCG is used in the treatment of superficial bladder cancer following surgery. Levamisole is a drug used along with fluorouracil (5–FU) chemotherapy in the treatment of stage III colon cancer following surgery. Levamisole may act to restore depressed immune function.

Tips and comments:

Cancer is more curable when detected early. Most probably, the cancer develop without symptoms. As soon as a person is suffering from cancer, the only measure is prevention. Basically avoiding its potential causes is the simplest method. What can be avoided? The first and foremost thing is to stop smoking tobacco, avoid excess sunlight and toxins.  When the diseased person work spot relate to cancer causing agents, then the safety precautions must be taken in order to minimize the exposure of those compounds. In certain type of cancers, the persons can be vaccinated though he or she not suffering from the disease on a preventive measure.  In case of genetic linked cancer, prior care can be taken before the initial symptom in order to prevent the cancer development.
