An autoimmune disorder is a disease in which the patient’s own immune system starts destroying the healthy body tissues. In total there are about 80 different autoimmune disorders. The big question which the patients usually ask about this disorder is how to get the autoimmune diseases treatment. The mechanism of an autoimmune disease involves the white blood cells. Basically the white blood cells protect the body against harmful substances called antigens. In an autoimmune disease the white blood cell cannot distinguish between healthy tissues and antigens. The cause which leads to this condition is still unknown although there are some theories. One of them states that microorganism or drugs may lead to this condition. Thus the Autoimmune Diseases Treatment is not as successful as it should be due to a verity of symptoms and due to the presence of different diseases under this category.
The main autoimmune diseases include rheumatoid Arthritis, Dermatomyositis, Graves disease, Hashimoto's thyroiditis, Multiple sclerosis, Myasthenia gravis, Pernicious anemia and type 1 diabetes. In order to provide an effective Autoimmune Diseases Treatment one should be familiar with the symptoms of all these diseases. The first step in the treatment of any disease is to diagnose it. The diagnostic test may include C - reactive protein (CRP), Antinuclear Antibody test, Autoantibody test and the ESR which is the erythrocyte sedimentation rate. The tests are performed according to the type of disease, for example ESR will only be effective in an autoimmune disease related to blood.
There are a number of approaches by which Autoimmune Diseases Treatment can be done. The treatment maybe with the help of chemicals or drugs, it maybe with the help of an improved diet or the addition of supplements in the diet and with the help of other methods such as blood transfusions or organ transplantations. As autoimmune diseases include a variety of diseases there is not a single treatment. For each type of disease there is a different and specialized treatment. For the treatment of Type I Diabetes and Hashimoto’s thyroiditis hormone treatment is the most effective remedy, thus thyroid hormones and insulin are normally used. Others can be treated with the supply of appropriate supplements such as vitamins especially vitamin B12. If the disease is affecting the blood then blood transfusion will be the only remedy. In case of Rheumatoid Arthritis one may need physiotherapy and calcium supplements. Medicines and drugs are only prescribed for the control or reduction of the symptoms of the autoimmune disease. These drugs may include corticosteroids and NSAIDs. The best way to treat these diseases is to suppress the immune system but this may have other harmful effects.
Tips and comments
With the help of modern technology and genetic engineering the autoimmune diseases treatment of Th1-driven autoimmune diseases is now possible. This mechanism basically targets IgE receptors by the help of antibodies which bind to these receptors. Helminth infection triggers IgE mediate immune response and thus prevent the development of Th-1Driven autoimmune diseases. The two Th-1 Driven autoimmune diseases treated with the help of this technique are juvenile diabetes and multiple sclerosis.
