Introduction

There is something called hair disease, which is not known to many people. Many people are surprised to hear the term "hair diseases." Before learning about what is hair diseases and how to treat hair diseases, here is the small outline on importance of maintaining healthy hair.

The external personality and outlook of an individual is influenced strongly by hair. Hair is not something that is used to adorn ourselves and enrich our personality. Irrespective of a beautiful face and attractive physique, improper hair style and unhealthy hair can spoil everything. Appropriate care should be taken to maintain the good health of hair, which is not just limited for boasting appealing personality, but also maintaining healthy hair. Some of the commonly experienced hair diseases include dandruff, itchy scalp, and redness of the scalp.

What Causes Hair Diseases

Hair diseases are generally caused due genetics and a lack of nutrition. Other causes of hair diseases include improper hair care, dirt and debris in the hair, exposure to pollution, long gaps in washing the hair, and fungal infections. Further, several diseases affecting body also affect skin and hair health.

Treating Hair Diseases

Treating hair diseases is very simple, once the cause is identified. Further, by adapting and resorting to strict maintenance of hygiene and appropriate care, hair diseases can be treated. Here are the few simple and effective tips that can treat the diseases of the hair.

Treating dandruff: Dandruff is the major and most common hair disease experienced by majority of the world population. Fungal infection in the hair is caused due to exposure to pollution and dirty hair. It causes dandruff, leading towards permanent baldness of hair through continuous hair loss. Further, the fungal infection also prevents the hair growth which affects the cells assisting in hair growth. It can be treated by washing the hair at least once in two or three days. Washing the hair removes the dirt and keeps it clean facilitating the growth of hair. Rubbing the affected spots in the scalp with sponge dipped in hot water or lemon is also an effective treatment option to get rid of dandruff. However, if any person is affected severely with dandruff appearing through the scalp and loose hair, it is recommended to seek the guidance and medication from the dermatologists, where they prescribe medicated shampoo to treat dandruff.

Treating hair loss: Hair loss is not a hair disease as considered by many people. It is a normal biological process where every individual is prone to lose certain amount of hair every day, which is replaced by hair growth every day. When the hair loss results with thinning of hair, it is a hair disease, where the condition is characterized by the absence of hair growth due to malnutrition or severe dandruff. Massaging the scalp with oil stimulates the hair follicles. However, applying excessive amount of oil attracts the dirt and debris, which is settled in the hair.

Treating itchy scalp and redness: Itchy scalp causes redness and inflammation which is caused due to allergic food or allergic reaction to any chemical based shampoo. Itchy scalp abruptly affect the mild skin of the scalp causing lesions and injuries in the head. This condition abruptly stops the hair growth and gradually leads towards creating baldness. It can be treated by avoiding the usage of chemical based shampoos or conditioners.

Conclusion

Taking vitamin supplements, eating fresh fruits and vegetables, exposure to the sun for a minimum of 15 minutes a day, and maintaining proper hygiene  treats all types of hair diseases and also facilitates for healthy hair. Vitamins not just promote the skin health but also assist in hair growth by treating all hair diseases and disorders.
