Symptoms Of Mental Health Problems

Introduction

A lot of people suffer from mental health problems. Some people suffer from certain mental health problems but have never been diagnosed. They are either afraid of the medications or simply cannot afford to see a mental health doctor. This is sad, because mental health issues are a treatable problem with medications and counseling. If you have a mental health problem, there is help out there to be found.

Depression

Depression is a very serious mental health problem. There are many different types of depression as well as many different symptoms of this mental health problem. The main type of depression is chronic depression, which lasts for more than two years. It can be treated as long as you see a mental health doctor as soon as you can and get on the right medications. It might take a while to find the right medications for you, but once you do, you will feel like your old self again. The symptoms of depression include crying for no reason, irritability, mood swings, weight loss or gain, and change of appetite and sleeping habits. You might want to eat more or less and you might want to sleep more or less. Once you realize you have this mental health problem, you need to see a doctor as soon as possible. Even if you don't have health insurance you can still get help. A lot of mental health doctors will see you for free as long as you are trying to get on assistance to help you pay to see them.

Bipolar Disorder

Bipolar Disorder is another mental health problem. This needs to be treated right away or problems could occur. The symptoms of Bipolar are similar to depression. However, there are different types of Bipolar Disorder and they have different symptoms. Bipolar can cause irritability, up and down mood swings that last for hours, a feeling of a high where you feel like you can do anything at any time, and even depression symptoms. This is a treatable mental of health disorder with medications and counseling as well. Doctors and counselors will help you for free for a little while as long as you are trying to get on assistance.

Tips and comments

Anxiety disorder or panic disorder is another mental health problem. The symptoms are irritability, panic attacks and mood swings. Most people who have anxiety or panic disorder cannot be around a lot of people without having panic attacks. If you think you have this problem you need to get treated as soon as possible.

Make sure once you get on medications to take them as prescribed. If you don't take them right you will keep having the symptoms.

It might take a little while for the medication and the counseling sessions to work but they will start working if you are being treated the right way.

If you continue to have symptoms even with the medication for several weeks after then your medications might need to be changed. Speak to your doctor as soon as possible to have the medications changed so they can start working properly.
