How To Deal With Mental Health Anxiety

Introduction

Did you know that everyday millions of America's suffer from mental health anxiety. This is a very real and serious issue and should be taken as though it is one those those around the person who is having to suffer with this very serious issue.

Having anxiety can cause people to get nervous or all together avoid social situations. This may also include things such as going into a store to shop, driving a vehicle, or doing activities they loved before such as bowling or going out to eat!

History

Most everyone will be stressed out at some point in their lives, however people with mental health anxiety are stressed on a daily basis. Even if they are not having a "flare up" of anxiety they still are experiencing it internally. Some signs of mental health anxiety include worrying about everything and taking it to an extreme (example: I have a headache, I hope it isn't a brain tumor). A common fear in people with mental health anxiety is a fear of heart issues. One of the reason people fear this more than anything is because there are so many advertisements on tv, magazines, and billboards about the heart.

Many things can bring the anxiety about, it doesn't just "happen". Typically stress over a prolonged period can mess with the brain function causing the body to react in the fight or flight response. This is the response that has been with man from the very beginning of time and was designed to protect us from harm. In the cave days man would use this as a survival skill to outsmart large animals who may be after them! However, in people with anxiety this doesn't protect but actually harms the system since there is usually no need to be afraid.

 

Things that may cause anxiety

The death of a loved one certainly has been knows to cause anxiety in many people. This may be someone such as a child, mother, father or someone else who was very close to the individual.

Events that could have been very tragic, such as a major car wreck have been knows to cause anxiety and made people avoided driving for many years to come.

A tragic event happening can cause this as well, such as 9/11 (which was on a national level) or seeing a tragedy happen (such as a quake, tornado, or bad vehicle wreck) where people's lives were forever changed.

Tips and comments

There are many ways to help release the stress and tension of having mental health anxiety. One of the first is to go to your doctor and get a full blood work up done, just to assure you that there are no problems that you should actually be concerned about. You doctor may want to put you on a type of medication which will help the anxiety and panic that you are feeling. Note: these medicines are meant to be used for a short time only and most people abuse that and may resort to stronger drugs.

There are some excellent all natural sources that you can use to help anxiety such as drinking kava tea, or taking an all natural supplement called calm forte. A lot of doctors also recommend melatonin, which is an all natural substance that the body produces naturally. Sometimes mental health anxiety will reduce your melatonin levels and this may help to raise those levels. It also will help you to get some sleep.

 

Note: never use these supplements while driving and always use under the care of a physician.
