Trying to network with current employees in the industry can also help your chances of landing a job in the video game world. These people are already in their respective positions and can maybe even help guide you into getting a job in the future. At the least, you can pick their brain about how they got into the industry and see what worked for them. You might get a great idea for how to get into it yourself.

There are many ways to get into the exciting world of video games, and whichever route you take is completely up to you. For some, college may be the best route, but for those unable to afford or not willing to go to college, there is still hope that they can work their way up and eventually be designing games for the world.
