How To Set Up a Printer Fax Scanner Copier Combination

Try using an all-in-one printer/fax/scanner/copier machine for all of your home and business needs. There is no need to have many different electronic products that can only serve the purpose of one of these functions each, when you can have a printer fax scanner copier machine that does it all. With this product, you will easily be able to print documents and photographs, fax documents, scan, and copy your desired documents. It is very simple to use a printer fax scanner copier combination once it is set up to run with your computer.

Step 1

After you have purchased a printer fax scanner copier combination, you'll need to hook it up to your computer for it to run correctly. Open up the package that your all-in-one printer came in and take out everything that came with it out of the box. In the box, there should be the printer fax scanner copier combination device, installation disc, and needed wires that will connect the printer, usually two. Make sure that everything is in the box before proceeding with the set up.

Step 2

Take the two wires that came with your printer fax scanner copier combination and plug them both in to their slots on the back of the all-in-one printer device. One slot should be for a USB and one should be for a power cord. Then, plug the other end of the power cord in to an electrical outlet and the end of the USB plug in to the back of your computer in an empty slot.

Step 3

Open up your computers CD-ROM drive and insert the printer fax scanner copier combination installation disc. This should automatically open a window for the installation process. Click next as the installation will guide you through effectively installing the printer fax scanner copier combination with your computer. This will usually download drivers and software that are needed for your all-in-one printer to work with all of the features that it includes.

Step 4

After the installation for your printer fax scanner copier combination has completed, power on your printer by clicking the power button. You should now be able to use all of the features and functions that came with your device, including printing, faxing, scanning, and copying. To use all of the features, open the software that is installed on your computer. The user manual will also guide you through the process of using each feature.

Step 5

Test out everything on your all-in-one printer to make sure that it all works. It is a great idea to print out a test sheet of paper, which will show you if it is installed correctly, it printing works, and if the paper and ink are aligned correctly in the machine. Try to scan and fax by placing a document face down in the scanner bed. Copying can be done the same way and you can even choose the amount of copies that you would like to make of a document.

Tips and comments

Before purchasing your all-in-one printer, read reviews for different brands such as Canon, Kodak, and Epson to find one that you will like.
