Something else to remember is that baby monitors range can only go so far. You should remember this when making your decision to buy a baby monitor. Some can only reach so far before they start to fade out or don't work at all. Baby monitors are not designed for baby's to be left alone, but rather that they are able to hear them when they are asleep or have to make dinner. This helps the parents do other tasks and still have the ability to hear their baby when they are needed.

Find out if the company had any type of recalls in the past couple of years. Also find out what the monitors are made out of if you can get a better deal on one. Most thrift stores do get them in and it is a great idea to buy them used when possible as long as they are working.

One of the last things to remember about using baby monitors is the materials that it is made out of and how it works. Some have Wifi and others have just the basic wiring. If you are concerned about having some kind of interference with the baby and it's development, than a basic baby monitor might be a better choice. There are some that can alert the parents when there is an irregular breathing pattern. Finding out what the materials were to make them can make a difference in a child's life.
