How To Avoid Diseases That Affect The Kidney

 The various factors that affect kidney depend upon age or family history that cannot be controlled. But  others factors that can be controlled are blood pressure and blood sugar level.  The various measures that can be followed to reduce the risk factors are mentioned below.

Diabetes can cause kidney failure in most of the people. Especially type2 diabetes is most prevalent in case of kidney diseases. Around 50% of patient who undergo dialysis have diabetic problem.  Hence to prevent the diabetic condition that leading to kidney diseases, one should keep control over blood pressure and blood sugar level

High blood pressure usually makes the blood vessel to get stressed through the body which leads to stress to be included on the kidney filters (nephrons).  Hence, hypertension is also a vital reason for the kidney diseases.  To control high blood pressure, the individual should Weight control, exercise, and medications as directed by the physician.  These measures can absolutely control high blood pressure and thereby preventing the kidney diseases.

 The malfunctioning of lower urinary tract system which is usually caused by birth defect can lead to a condition where urine stay back up into kidney and therefore causing serious damage to kidney, leading to kidney diseases.  Even the blood clots or plaques of cholesterol can block the kidney's blood vessels which result in the reduced blood flow to the kidney and cause damage. Kidney stones can block the flow of urine from the kidney, the condition leading to kidney damage and its related kidney diseases.  The blockages can be avoided by treatment and so the kidney and kidney stones can also be treated and removed

Kidney inflammation which is followed by kidney failure can also be due to heavy use of painkillers such as ibuprofen, naproxen, or acetaminophen having been associated with interstitial nephritis. If such medications are taken, it has to be reported to the doctor if the person is already having complications with kidney diseases. If any new medications are consumed, the symptoms are to be reported to the physicians on your next visit.

 If any one of the family members have kidney related disease or they are on dialysis, or have a kidney transplant, absolutely it’s sure that even others are at higher risk. One of the inherited diseases that are included in kidney disease is polycystic kidney disease. This disease causes large, fluid-filled cysts that eventually affect the normal kidney tissue. So it is necessary to get diagnosed with the physician as preventive measure.

In rare cases, the premature babies can suffer from calcium deposits in kidney. This condition is known as nephrocalcinosis. There is possibility of developing kidney diseases on later parts of the life and so to be diagnosed with help of physician in order to prevent the kidney diseases.

Age is also a factor that is associated with kidney diseases. Since kidney functionality is reduced due to older age, the older you are, the greater the risks.

If the person had accidents, injuries, any kind of surgeries, and certain radio contrast dyes which are used to monitor blood flow of heart and other organs can also damage the kidneys or reduce blood flow to the kidneys.  This can result in acute kidney failure.

 To avoid kidney diseases, the first and foremost thing is to keep control on blood pressure and the blood sugar level. Simple exercise can do wonders with respect to health issues.  Care should be taken if the person has diabetes.
