About Diabetes

Symptoms Of Diabetes Related Diseases

As a chronic disease, diabetes is affecting more and more people each day. This occurs when there is failure of the pancreas to produce insulin which helps in glucose metabolism. When this happens, glucose stays in the blood stream. If you let this condition stay for a long period of time, it can lead to secondary damage to the eyes, heart, liver, kidney, and other important organs of the body.

There are even three types of diabetes. The type-1 diabetes occurs or develops even in childhood or those young adults. In this type of diabetes, the immune system has failed to function properly and that is why it is called the autoimmune disease.

The Type-2 diabetes on the other hand is the most common diabetes people experience. This is when the glucose level is above the normal. Most of the time, this happens when there is insufficient insulin in the body or that the cells are resisting the produced insulin.

The other type of diabetes is the gestational diabetes. But this only occurs less than the other two types. This happens temporarily in women during their late pregnancy.
