Introduction

Achieving a flawless look when our face is affected by blemishes is a real challenge. These are often swollen, with pus, oily and with thin skin which peels of and compromises our efforts to coverage them with makeup. The biggest problem we have to fight when we try to hide them is not to look like a mask because of to much makeup or poor quality makeup. Still, there is a solution for each problem, so here is how you can hide the blemishes without compromising the makeup.

Step 1

First, skin affected by blemishes needs a special treatment to be applied prior makeup. This consists of a deep cleaning with water and an antibacterial cleanser. One of the most effective cleansers of this kind is called Clearskin Invigorating Cleansing Scrub and is offered by Avon. It provides protection against bacteria all day long, eliminates the dead skin cells which block the pores, prevents the skin from becoming oily and nourishes the complexion with the aid of the eucalyptus extracts.

Step 2

Secondly, to prevent the makeup to enter the skin pores and worsen their condition, apply a face toner especially designed for oily skin. This will reduce the size of the pores and will offer the impression of an even skin. Try to use one from the same range as the antibacterial cleanser because otherwise you risk an allergy triggered. It can happen that ingredients of different products to react negatively when they come into contact. Only after these two treatments are applied we can start and discuss on makeup to hide the unaesthetic blemishes.

Step 3

Every makeup starts with applying a concealer around the eyes to coverage the dark circles and then on the blemishes to coverage the redness and swellings as much as possible. Avoid putting too much because by midday it will become cakey.

Step 4

After that, use a creamy or a liquid foundation in a lightweight and oil-free formula to even the skin. The water based foundations are recommended in this case because they allow the pores to breathe. Also, go for matte foundations instead of those shimmering because otherwise you will draw the attention on your skin problems. At the end, put some translucent powder to fix it and to retain the oil that might come out from the pores throughout the day.

Step 5

Skip the blush phase, especially if the pimples are on the cheeks. This will only draw the attention on them. Create a focal point on makeup you use to distract the attention from the blemishes. You can either make your eyes pop, or show off your lips, but don't bring out both at a time because they will compete on makeup that you have built so far and will ruin your look. After you have finished putting on makeup, check again to see if you haven't miss any blemish.

Tips

All this said, putting on makeup that hides blemishes takes some time because there is an entire skin care ritual to follow.
