About Acne And Pregnancy

Introduction

When you are pregnant for the first time, you may not realize all of the different changes that your body will be going through. It can be fun at first, your breasts get bigger, you get curves you never had before, and then the hormones kick in. You have mood swings like never before and you can not figure it out. Well, welcome to pregnancy the wildest nine months of your life. With pregnancy your body will throw your hormones for a loop and this can cause acne and mood swings.

History

The mood swings will even themselves out after a couple of weeks when your body gets used to being pregnant. If you are finding yourself breaking out in acne and can not find anything to stop it, it might be a good time to look at your cleaner. With all of the hormones going on in your body, your skin and hair will change. One reason for this is you are probably taking a multivitamin and eating a lot better. The face wash you were using might be making the acne worse and causing it to break out even more. You might want to change to a gentler cleansing cream or even use just warm water to wash your face. You might find out that you are breaking out worse around your jaw line. This can happen from hair follicles getting clogged. It is also very important to keep your hair clean.

Features

If you are breaking out with acne and it is getting worse, talk to your doctor about what you can use. Some products can be absorbed through the skin and can cause problems to your baby. You can also get acne in places that you have never had it before, including on your breast and your buttocks. If this is the case a mild soap can help to clear up the problem. Most of this will stop after the hormones calm down during the first trimester. If you are still having acne and it continues to get worse in the second trimester, talk to your doctor and see what he recommends. You may have to deal with it. Some women have suggested using baby wash to keep their skin clean. It is very gentle without harsh chemicals, and it may be worth a try.

Even if your acne does go away, it could come back with a vengeance after you have the baby. Your hormones will be out of whack again; acne and breaking out can become a problem once you deliver your bundle of joy. After your hormones calm down, usually within six weeks of having a baby, your acne should start going away. If it does not, you should go back to the routine you had before you got pregnant and use the same face cleaning products. You may find that your body does not respond as well. You may still break out in acne and have a harder time getting your face to clear up.
