What Are The Causes Of Bovine Diseases

There are different types of Bovine diseases; all of them have different causes. The first very well known Bovine disease is the Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy. The informal name for this disease is The Mad Cow disease. In this a protein agent called Prion, forms in the animal’s body. The protein causes damage to the brain of the cow and makes it eventually bleed to death. The prion protein causing the disease is formed when the cow or a cattle is fed with different types of chemical agents like hormones etc, to boost up the growth of the animal. These diseases can transform into a human version of the diseases, if the infected animal is fed to the human. The human version of the disease causes death of the person in the long run. Another infectious disease called the Bovine parvovirus has known to commonly affect young calves. This disease is caused by premature birth of the calves. This type of infectious disease is normally treatable by vaccination. There are also skin diseases which occur commonly in the bovine animal group. One of the diseases is known as the Cowpox. Cowpox is a disease which causes rashes and skin damage to the cow. This type of disease can also infect humans, but only on a basic level. Due to the contagious nature of the disease towards humans, all famers and dairy workers are encouraged to get cowpox vaccines, to immune themselves from the disease.

Tips and comments

Each bovine disease has a different cause when compared to another. The main key to protect an animal of the bovine family from catching the disease is to take good care of them. If there is some kind of unusual behavior or appearance seen, then the bovine family animal should be taken to the nearest animal doctor straight away for treatment. This is very important as some bovine diseases can also affect humans.
