Types Of Brain Degenerative Diseases

Introduction

The brain is the main part of the human body this is because the brain is responsible for controlling all the other functions of the body. Therefore if the brain is sick then the whole body is sick. But when the brain is health and free from degenerative brain diseases then the body is health and the person can be said not only to be physically fit but also mentally stable and so it is only when the brain is health that the whole body can function right. However there are times when the brain is affected by degenerative brain diseases and since the brain controls the entire nervous system if it is affected then the whole nerves system is affected. There are so many degenerative brain diseases that affect the brain but the most common include dementia, Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease and AIDS dementia.

History

One of the degenerative disease that most people do not want to get is Dementia. this degenerative brain disease often affects the old people and its symptoms would include , loss of memory , being unable to remember the past , a person is unable to make a judgment on totally different situations , and a person may develop problems or difficult in communicating with people around him or her. when a person is diagnosed with the degenerative brain disease it is very likely that doctors will club other degenerative brain diseases such as e Alzheimer's disease and Parkinson's disease this is because both of this other degenerative brain diseases are found in old people so they likely to occur at the same time as Dementia.

Another degenerative brain disease you do not want to acquire is the AIDS dementia. Although this is an infection of the brain due to the fact that one has AIDS it can comfortably be categorized as a degenerative brain disease and a very fatal one at that. In this scenario a person is afflicted by both Dementia and AIDS at the same time. When a person is suffering from this degenerative brain disease that is the AIDS dementia he or she will experience the following symptoms , he or she will have difficulty in their speech , they will have a change in their behavior , the person will have problems with their motor skills , they are likely to have the inability to concentrate and even think and most of all they will have a problem remembering things of the past.

Features

Most of the degenerative brain diseases have no cure but the doctor can help to alleviate the symptoms ,manage pain and help the patient to regain a certain amount of mobility. Some of this degenerative brain diseases are life threatening and can ultimately cause death to patients. Some of the degenerative brain diseases that I did not mention would include amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, spinal muscular atrophy, Lewy body diseases, multiple sclerosis, Friedreich's ataxia and Huntington's disease
