Introduction

These days, it is hard not to get caught up in consumerism and buying things. People today typically make more money than years before and have access to more items and shops. Years ago, people made a lot of their own things and only bought necessities but today, we have everything already made for us and ready for us to purchase. Clothing merchandise is something that we all need and all buy from time to time and most people today do not have the time or patience to make their own clothes. Clothing is bought for various reasons. Primarily, it is bought to protect our bodies and keep us warm and secondly, it is bought to express our fashion sense and personality.

Certain clothing merchandise is also needed for certain life events such as weddings, job interviews, special occasions and sports. The problem with buying clothing merchandise is we tend to buy more than we need and we get sick of it overtime.

Step 1

As anyone who has ever shopped for clothing knows, it can get quite expensive and we just hate to throw something out that we could possible make money from. Well, there are solutions to that dilemma. First of all, there are plenty of people out there who would love to have the clothing that you are sick of.

Step 2

One great way to sell clothing merchandise is to hold a garage or yard sale. Set up a table in your yard by the road or in your garage and display your clothing. Make up signs beforehand to post around town so people know you are having it.

Step 3

Rent a table at a local flea market and sell your clothing merchandise.

Step 4

A consignment shop allows customers to sell gently used clothing merchandise on their racks. The way it works is the store owner gets fifty percent and you get the rest if the item sells.

Step 5

Host a clothes swapping party at your house or other venue and invite all your friends to bring any clothing merchandise they no longer want and swap for things they want. You wont make money but you will certainly save some by swapping for some great new clothes and finding a great way to recycle your old clothing.

Step 6

Advertise that you have clothing for sake on an online site such as Kiiiji, Craigslist or eBay. You can post pictures of the clothing merchandise you have available and than wait for people who are interested to respond.

Tips

There are many ways to sell old clothing merchandise and make some money for yourself to buy new clothes or anything that you may want to spend it on. If you are unable to sell it or no one is interested, there are always tons of local and national charities looking for generous donations to help the needy.
