Introduction

the Best Therapy For Acne

Acne can be a troublesome thing, particularly for teens. It can be embarrassing and painful. It may feel like there's no way to prevent or control breakouts, but this isn't true. Most would go straight to their dermatologist, however, this isn't completely necessary. There are many forms of acne therapy that don't require a trip to the dermatologist. Acne is a condition that can be self-controlled, maintained, and prevented. This article will provide some tips to help you fight acne breakouts through effective acne therapy.

Step 1

The best acne therapy is as simple as washing your face twice a day with acne-medicated face wash. These washes are sulfur-based, and designed specifically for combating acne. The best times to wash your face are right when you wake up (perhaps before washing your face), and right before you go to bed. Be sure to be gentle when washing your face, and don't scrub too hard. Washing too much, or too hard may actually stimulate the oils in your skin, which will cause more acne.

Step 2

One of the first steps in acne therapy is getting the proper vitamins, and eating the right diet. Vitamin deficiency is actually a common cause of acne. So, start taking a multivitamin. After you start doing that, consider the key vitamins that will help you combat acne. The best vitamins are Vitamin A, Zinc, and Omega 3 fatty acids. Other good vitamins to take include: Vitamins B, C, and E. Vitamin A is good because it strengthens the protective tissue in the skin, and therefore prevents acne. It's also an antioxidant that can actually rid your body of toxins. Therefore, it's an essential tool for acne therapy. Zinc works as an antibacterial agent in the skin, and a lack of zinc has been proven to cause breakouts. Omega 3 fatty acids contains both mood regulators, and anti-acne agents.

Step 3

Do your best not to pop or pick at any of your acne. This is not a good form of acne therapy, because it spreads the oil (called sebum). Not only that, but it increases sebum production, and ruptures the membrane beneath your skin. Rupturing the membrane causes oil to spread underneath your skin, usually resulting in an infection, and that means another acne breakout.

Step 4

When going through acne therapy, drink lots of water. Two liters, or eight glasses per day is ideal. This aids in re-hydrating your skin. When the skin becomes dehydrated, it fails to shed dead skin cells, which results in dirtier skin, more infections, blocked pores, and more acne.

Step 5

Another great step in acne therapy is increasing the fruits, vegetables, and nuts in your diet. One of the easiest ways to accomplish this is to create a smoothie for breakfast every morning, and maybe start to eat salad as one of your side dishes. Also, instead of snacking on chips, consider snacking on some Brazilian nuts, cashews, or almonds.

Tips

Here are some simple acne therapy tips:

1. Keep your hair out of your face

Hair contains oils that will contribute to your breakouts.

2. Avoid Makeup

Too much product on the skin clogs up pores, which causes more acne.

3. Wash your Pillowcase often

Your pillow case will absorb the oils from your skin, so change it often.

Comments

Do your best to follow these simple steps, and your acne should begin to clear up. For most people, it's not necessary to go to a dermatologist to get prescription acne medication.
