A Great Skin Care Routine


The skin is the largest organ in our body. Surprised? Don’t be! Skin is not considered as an organ in general, but it is indeed an organ. So it’s very important to keep a skin looking clear, clean and fresh looking. It may not be possible to do that all the time, but it’s achievable for most hours in a day. Your face, unlike other parts of your skin is always directly getting exposed to the sun and the environment and can be easily damaged by the harmful rays of the sun or by environmental pollution. So, taking care of your face and your skin is very important for avoiding wrinkles, pimples and blackheads.

How to take care of skin

Most products meant for taking care of a skin are targeted at women, but men should also follow a daily regimen of cleaning their skin. The skin of a man has deeper layers than a woman’s and is very much susceptible to damage and signs of aging. All men and women need to drink lots of water for staying hydrated all the time to prevent the skin from drying. Water plays a very important part in taking care of a skin, and one should ideally drink 10-12 glasses of water a day for optimum skin care. Most people in the world are used to the products they have been using from a young age, but the products which are suitable for taking care of a young skin which is in its youth may not be suitable for a skin that has changed with age. So everybody needs to change their skin-care products from time to time.

The four steps

A skin-care routine consists of four important steps. The routine needs to be followed daily to achieve maximum success. Just washing the face with a face wash is not good enough. Washing the face with a face wash is the first step and should never be the only one. The other three steps need to be followed as well to keep a skin firm and healthy. All the four steps need not be necessarily followed daily but two of them are very important and need to be done daily. The four steps are - cleaning your face with a face wash, toning the skin by using a toner, exfoliating the skin and dabbing some moisturizer on it. People with oily skin need not apply a moisturizer everyday but for people with dry skin, it’s extremely important. Dry skin is more prone to wrinkles than oily skin and should be hydrated all the time.


Cleansing of a skin needs to be done at least twice a day, once in the morning and once before going to bed. It’s necessary because it removes all the dirt and oil from a skin and helps with preventing pimple and blackheads. Toning is the next step and is helpful in removing dirt and any traces of the cleanser. Exfoliation comes next and it should be done once a week for removing cells, which are past their expiry date.
