Introduction

If you are thinking about creating your own website, why not consider Google Site free hosting. Google is one of the most well-known websites on the Internet and can provide you with reliable and easy to use website services. When you are creating your own website, you will need to select a site that will host the website for you. With the Google Site free hosting plan, you can use pre-made templates to design a personal, business, team, or family website. There are tons of possibilities when you choose to use Google Site hosting.

Step 1

Think about what you would like to make your website for. If you are a teacher, you may be interested in making a classroom website, where your students can come to view homework assignments, lessons, and more. Share company information, keep your family up to date with the latest happenings, keep track of business projects, and so much more. Even if you do not know any HTML or how to create a website, Google Site does it all for you. Your website can be made in one step and then customized by you with colors, fonts, and themes.

Step 2

Now that you know what you are going to make your website for, you can head to sites.Google.com to access to Google Site main page. Here, you can learn more about what Google Site has to offer and begin to create your web pages. Just click on the create button, located on the left side of the page, to get started in making your own website.

Step 3

To begin with Google Site, you will be asked to select a template that you would like your website to look like. Click on the template image and then select the preview template link to see exactly wheat it will look like. You can find even more templates by browsing the gallery. You can now name your website and pick the URL that it will have. This will be the link that you and others will go to when trying to access your website. After you have picked this information, hit the create site button.

Step 4

You will now see a preview of your Google Site web page that you just created. In the upper right hand corner of the page, there should be a pencil icon that will let you edit the page. Click this button. The easy to use editor makes changing your website simple. Just click on the text to change it to whatever you'd like it to say. Font face, size, and color can also be changed in this editor.

Step 5

If you know HTML and would like to edit your website this way, there is an edit HTML source button in the website editor. When you click this, you will see a box pop up with all of the website's HTML coding. You can change this to meet your wants and needs. This should not be edited if you do not know HTML coding.

Tips

Share your Google Site web page with friends, family, and business associates to get the word out. Keep your website up to date with the latest happenings in your family, business, or personal life.
