The Google venture started out in 1996 as a small search engine known as “BackRub” that was developed by 2 Stanford University graduates. Not long after this initial development, these 2 students decided to reach out even further by developing a bigger, better search engine which became known as “Google.”

This change occurred within 2 years of the initial development and the 2 students made the name Google up all by themselves. The Google name became evident in 1997 before they incorporated in 1998. At one time, Google operations took place out of a garage back in the day that they were known only as a search engine. Today, they have multiple offices in US and international locations.

Google online services have evolved through many stages and have grown tremendously since its beginning. A service that was once known as a search engine has now gained status as a huge corporation that offers multiple services and products to internet users.
