Introduction

There are a lot of pictures in the internet or in magazines which showcases perfect skin. You can also see these pictures when you enter any dermatology clinic, showcasing how effective their skin treatments are. However, you’re not too sure if these photos were just edited just to make it look good and for the people to believe how perfect their skin is. If you want to see for yourself, why don’t you try taking photos of your skin? It’s actually quite easy even if you’re not much of a pro photographer as long as you have the equipment. Here are the steps that you can do to take your own skin pictures.

Step 1

Step 1: Prepare materials

Before you take skin pictures, you need to do the necessary preparations first, especially the materials that you’re going to use. Make sure to have your laptop, card readers (make sure to bring a backup card reader just in case), camera (you can also bring a backup camera if you have one), camera tripod and reflectors (optional). In taking skin pictures, it is important to bring your laptop for you to immediately store your photos and assess them on the spot just in case you weren’t able to choose any good shot. This allows you to take another set of pictures again without having to go back to the place of the photo shoot.

Step 2

Step 2: Find a perfect place

Find a place for taking your skin pictures. You should be able to find a place that is comfortable, and not too crowded. Preferably, you should find a place that would be private. Aside from that, you should be able to find a well lighted place to have a good output for your skin pictures. If you can’t find a place, you can use a room in your house even if it’s not well lighted. You can always use your light reflectors but you would need extra light just like what you see in photo studios. You can also just choose a backdrop that would complement the light and make a place which is good for a photo shoot.

Step 3

Step 3: Clean and moisturize

If you want your skin to look good in the pictures, make sure you do the necessary preparations. Good skin pictures look glowing and healthy. So you need to have it cleaned and well moisturized to make it look soft and not dry. If you’re using a DSLR camera, every detail of your skin will be captured so you need to have it well cleaned as well. You can opt to remove any hair on the skin if you want it to look fine and if you don’t want to see your pores in the skin pictures. Make sure to either shave or wax and wash your skin with cold water to close your pores. You can also use any hair removing lotion if you like.

Step 4

Step 4: Apply makeup if needed

If you want your skin pictures to look healthier, you can also apply some makeup if you want to. You can apply any cheek tint if you want to have pinkish looking cheeks if you’re taking that part of your skin. You can also use bronzers to make your skin look a bit tanned. Or, better yet, you can use airbrush makeup to achieve an even skin tone so that your skin would look evenly coloured.

Step 5

Step 5: Take multiple shots

When you take your skin pictures, one shot per angle is not enough. You need to take multiple shots until you have come up with the best set that you can choose from.

Tips

Following these 5 simple steps, you are guaranteed to achieve the perfect skin everyone envies when taking pictures.
